Are wind farms noisy?

What's behind Manx Fair Trade?

The simple answer is 'nothing'. Although Shoprite's brand mirrors the international Fairtrade logo it delivers nothing extra to 'Manx family producers'.
International Fairtrade has mountains of policy to ensure a fair deal for
farmers in the developing world. Their work is as important as the work of Oxfam or Comic Relief.
But according to Shoprite's own boss there are no policies (
written or unwritten) to back up Shoprite's Manx Fair Trade claim. There's also no evidence that Shoprite's contracts with Manx farmers are any fairer than the contracts they get from other supermarkets.

Bullet point Lots of us think Shoprite's branding is very cynical. If you agree, please complain to Shoprite & the IoM Office of Fair Trading.
Bullet point For more info about the fantastic international Fairtrade brand, please visit the Fairtrade Foundation.

Still a climate change denier?

Eight of the hottest years on record have occurred since 2001 - but if you still don't believe in climate change, why not read the information on the Met Office website. This is written in plain English by people who know what they're talking about - not by journalists and newspaper editors!

Support the Robin Hood Tax

A tiny tax on bankers that would give billions to tackle poverty and climate change, here and abroad.
It sounds complicated, but actually it isn’t. A tiny tax on bankers has the power to raise hundreds of billions every year, giving a vital boost to the fight against child poverty in Britain – as well as tackling poverty & climate change around the world. Not complicated. Just brilliant.
